Helloo there! Last June, I had the opportunity to visit Florence, Italy, during a short business trip.

To be completely honest, and for personal reasons, I'm not really attracted to Italy. Even though I know this country has beautiful cities like RomeVenice... and a delicious cuisine, it wasn't on my list, and Bingo, to travel there in 2025... But life is full of surprises, and you should Never Say Never haha!

I had some apprehensions, but Florence really pleasantly surprised me! I loved the atmosphere, and one of my best memories, during my free time there, was listening to musicians under the sunset with the Ponte Vecchio (a famous 14th-century bridge) in the background
This little trip was also a wonderful opportunity to spend more time with my dear colleagues whom

I appreciate sooo much <3.  We had a great dinner at Signorvino restaurant (I ordered pasta, obviously, and it was super tasty just as I imagined)! That place offers an incredible view of the Arno, a beautiful river that runs through Florence. After dinner, we enjoyed a delicious gelato at Venchi, a well-known store, then walked around the historic city centre to admire the architecture and enjoy the warm June nights.

The main squarePiazza della Signoria, is worth seeing, especially for its Fountain of Neptune and Palazzo Vecchio. Right next, you can also discover a large and impressive 4-meter bronze statue by the artist Thomas Prive, which represents a young black woman looking at her phone. I found the details of this work incredible!!! And if you're passing by the city centre, don't forget to see the Fountain of the Porcellino and touch the boar's nose (apparently it brings good luck haha). Due to a lack of time, I couldn't visit one of the most emblematic sites of the city: the Great Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore, but I can't finish without at least mentioning it!
To conclude, I'm glad to have had the opportunity to discover a little bit of Florence with my colleagues.

It was only two days, but it did me a lot of good to see different landscapes.

I think that in 2026, I'll try to take more short trips of two to three days near France as before...

See you soon! Assitan <3
