Welcome to Penang, a charming island in Malaysia <3
We spent only 3 days there and our main aim was to chill after sightseeing Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. We went, of course, to the beach and I can recommend you Batu Ferringhi Beach: the water was so BLUE, warm and there were not many people for August! To be honest, I don't really like lying on the beach doing nothing with the burning sun on my face, but we only spent an hour there so it was fine haha. As I wanted to relax, I also had a traditional massage at a spa near my hotel, which was pretty great! We also admired the sunset at Chew Jetty, a traditional fishing village with old houses on stilts.
If you come to Penang you absolutely must visit the Kek Lok Si Temple a magnificent Boudist Tempe surrounded by mountains. I also wanted to take the funicular to Penang Hill, another famous spot, but the weather wasn't good (rainy season) and there was a long queue. To finish, Georgetown, the city center is also a must-see, with its super cute and colorful streets. Ther are many mosques, temples and... Street Art! Even though it was raining very often, I enjoyed walking around and taking a few photos for this album :)

A little story: the trip to Penand started badly because I missed my flight from Singapore... I don't know why but I decided to go to the airport by train instead of following my friends by taxi (I thought it was less expensive) ... But it took longer than expected and when I arrived at the airport, the gate was almost closed and they couldn't take my luggage. They literally told me: "You can enter the plane but your luggage has to stay here" LOL! So I had to pay 150 euros for another flight 2 hours later (fortunately it wasn't too expensive...)
And my troubles didn't stop there! : when I arrived in Penang I discovered that my hotel room was HORRIBLE: there were a lot of dust, the smell was disgusting, and the room looked very old and not clean. I tried to ignore it but I couldn't even seat on the bed, So I decided to change the hotel. Fortunately, I got a refund from Booking.com as I didn't spend even an hour there... And my friends followed me the day after!

So if you come to Penang, I can recommend two hotels: The Granity luxury Hotel (I spent one night there) and my favorite one: the Ascott Gurney Penang Hotel <3 - So, YES they are more expensive, but Peace is priceless ;) And PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE BERJAYA PENANG HOTEL! I beg you DO NOT GO THEREEEE LMFAO (even if the staff were nice).
